Database driven site I created for my brother and his wife for their wedding.
This application was written to allow everyone involved with the planning of the wedding to have access to the invitation lists and make necessary changes. This site keeps track of contact information, who has been sent an invitation, who has RSVP 'd with how many adults and children, who has sent a gift and its description, who has been sent thank you notes, and how many people have RSVP'd for each event. Guests can log in to a separate portion of the site to RSVP online. Address lists can be created for printing as well. This site is still used for tracking contact information.

This is a start page I made to fit my needs. Events scheduled for the current day are listed on the site as well as how many emails (read and unread) I have in my inboxes. The main feature of this page is a XML RSS news feed parser that displays news headlines in a collapsible format. I have a cron tab set to run twice a day that runs a PHP script that parses a list of RSS news feed sites. That PHP script then updates a MySQL database table with new news headlines. When the page is loaded, it pulls the feeds from the MySQL table. This page also features a calendar script I developed in PHP and interacts with a MySQL database.
Philring

Philring is an application similar to the webring system used by Yahoo!. I created Philring to link web sites that had the common theme of Philmont. Users with Philmont sites can submit their site to Philring where Philring generates the HTML needed for the Philring navigation for their site. Information on sites are stored in a MySQL database. Links on the Philring navigator go to a PHP script that send the browser where it needs to go (next, previous, random, etc.).
Philmont Rangers Contact Information

Scripted in PHP, this site uses a MySQL database to keep track of contact information of a group called the Philmont Rangers (over 200 people). The purpose of the site is to allow Rangers to find contact information of other Rangers so they can stay in contact. The site requires a username and password (
me and I will send you one so you can look around). Cookies are used to retain login information. Users have the ability to change their own information as needed.
Villa Philmonte tour scheduling program - this was a demo created to show Philmont management an example of what can be done with their newly installed network. The purpose for the application is to allow crews to schedule a tour of the Villa Philmonte on any computer on the ranch. It was written using PHP and a MySQL database. The old system required someone to walk to a certain building and schedule a tour from there.
Philmont Ranger Schedule - this application allows anyone on the Philmont network to view the work schedule for Rangers who are picking up crews. It was written using PHP. The old system required that a print out of this schedule be made and be handed out to each department that needed a copy.
A Philmont Ranger's Guide to Backpacking

Database driven web site I created to help Boy Scouts who are going to Philmont.
Its purpose is to teach what equipment they need to take when going on a backpacking
trip at Philmont Scout Ranch. The front page is a Flash menu with a New Mexico
theme (where the ranch is located). The same New Mexico theme is reflected
throughout the site. The content for the site is stored in a MySQL database.
PHP is used to access the database and control the site. Cascading Style Sheets
are used for layout. It is CSS2 standards compliant. The site allows for user comments
to be left for each individual item.
Magnolia Rifle and Pistol Club

This client's site supports a shooting range and gun club. The only pages I created were the top level pages (4 total). It contains a Flash menu and a PHP mail script to send mail from the contact us page. I also created the logo in Photoshop.

2001 - A Scouting Odyssey

This site was for the 2001 Eastern District Spring Camporee. This is a weekend campout for a few hundred Boy Scouts in the Jackson, MS metro area. The theme for the campout is based on the movie 2001 A Space Odyssey (a space movie). The main purpose of the site is to inform scouts on the campout. The site has a Flash movie at the beginning.
